I’m both sad, happy and slightly incredulous that tomorrow marks my last first day of school. It’s difficult for me to wrap my mind around the fact that I’ve now been in school for almost 16 years and, as I look ahead to my final year of hitting the books, I can’t help but also glance back at what may have been my last ever summer of complete freedom (minus internship and thesis research, of course).
I’ve been playing around more with my Nikon D5200 and Final Cut Pro editing software, and I pieced together some clips I filmed of my summer in NYC and Colorado. Please excuse the fact that I’m still learning how to best capture video on my DSLR (i.e., getting it to fully focus) so this video isn’t at all perfect. However, it’s full of wonderful memories: visiting National Parks with my family, beautiful CO mountain overlooks, subway rides with my NYC roommates and days spent exploring Brooklyn and hanging out in Central Park. I’m glad I was able to capture a few of these memories on film to memorialize an especially excellent and adventurous summer.
Hope you enjoy the video, and happy back to school/almost fall!
